While I can maybe understand the desire to have wider eyes for Asian-American people, I was baffled that it is the number one cosmetic procedure in Asia. I personally have never thought much of the fact that Asians have smaller, more almond shaped eyes. While I understand having plastic surgery done to alter something about your body that you cannot change naturally, it never would have occurred to me that Asians would want to widen their eyes. First and foremost, I did not know that plastic surgery on your eyelid was even an option, much less something that was common practice.
